Call to Order

A public meeting of Ashland Kentucky Pride was held on June 7, 2026 at the Midland branch of the Boyd County Public Library. It began at 1:38 pm and was presided over by Holly Blevins with Jenee Kesling as secretary.

Approval of minutes

Holly made a motion to accept the meeting minutes for the month of May. Jenee seconded. Motion approved.

May Meeting Minutes

Treasurer's Report

Holly made a motion to receive the treasurer’s report for the month of May. Jenee seconded. Motion approved. 

• Question about $600 cash withdrawal from picnic 

  • $300 for cash boxes, $300 for the sound tech

  • Cash from picnic still needs deposited

• Question about Kroger check for $8

  • Rewards program that we are signed up for

• Annual Board Elections

  • Andrew was voted in as general board member

  • We still have 1 open board seat

  • Holly voted as president

  • Heather as VP

Committees 

• Pride Picnic Recap

  • Made $360 from tickets and merch

  • Aside from rain, things went well

  • Minor security issues that were handled well

  • Need to do better job of getting instructions out to people

  • Make sure we have med kits

  • Make laminated lists for each tent with what they should have in that area

  • Protesters not a huge issue and they left early

  • Taz - make list of performers about who showed up, who didn't, what their reasons were, if they communicated

  • Need a covered performance space in case of rain

Unfinished Business

New Business

• Holly will make a post about the beer launch party tonight

• Also needs to make a post about art night so people can prepare

• Holly recommended that we take the next year to focus on internal programs and less on events

• June 11th - Pride Beer launch party at Eridanus

• June 14th, 2:30 - 5:00 pm - Gayme Night!

• June 19th, 6:00 - 9:00 pm - Juneteenth at Broadway Square 

• June 25th - Poetry and Art night at Eridanus

• July 5th, 1:30 - 3:00 pm - AKP Monthly Meeting

Holly made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 1:55 pm. Jenee seconded. Motion approved.
