Ashland Kentucky Pride Meeting Minutes

Attending: Holly (she/her), Sean (he/him), Sophie (they/them, she/her), Jenee (she/her), Desire’ (she/her), Lu (she/her)

Absent:      Elliot (he/they),  Kasheena (she/her), Lossy (she/they)

The meeting was called to order by Holly (President) at 1:54 pm.

Holly made a motion to accept the meeting minutes for the March and April meetings. Sean seconded the motion. Motion approved.

Holly made a motion to receive the treasurer’s report for the months of March and April. Sean seconded. Motion approved.

Treasure’s report: Paypal: $1,562.21 • People’s: $3,526.63 

Old Business

• Y’all Means All

  • Sticker redesign with QR code 

  • Safe zone and educational material for businesses to inform their employees and make safe environments for all

• Safe Zone Training 

  • Need more trainers

  • Create a more generalized safe zone training with AFC that covers other topics such as ethnicity or ableism 

• Fundraising/Sponsorship requests

  • Lu will meet up with Holly and start sending out requests

• Mural

  • We did it! 

New Business

• Pride month activities

  • Pride beer and trivia night

    • Follow up with Justin about setting up the event (Holly)

    • Combine with queer art show

  • Queer-aoke at the Mill

    • Follow up with Michael to see if she would cohost with us (Sean and Heather)

    • Contact Mark Cole for karaoke 

  • Tattoo event

    • Look into this further after Art 4 Aid

• Pride Picnic

  • Holly will set a meeting to talk to the city about a new layout

  • Increase vendor fee to $40

  • Find ways to incorporate the rally into the picnic

  • Collect clothes for clothing swap
