Ashland Kentucky Pride Meeting Minutes

Attending: Holly (she/her), Lu (she/her), Jenee (she/her), Sean (he/him), Sophie (they/them, she/her), Heather (she/her)

Absent: Elliot (he/they), Desire’ (she/her), Kasheena (she/her)

The meeting was called to order by Holly (President) at 1:40 pm.

Holly made a motion to accept the meeting minutes for the month of July. Sean seconded the motion. Motion approved.

Holly made a motion to receive the treasurer’s report for the month of July. Sean seconded. Motion approved.

Treasurer's report: Paypal: $2,049.86 • People’s: $2,793.73 (+349.58 in old account)

Next meeting should be an election meeting for open board position. Need to make post asking for candidates.

  - Kasheena will head this event

  - Heather will apply to vendor
- Huntington Pride (October 19)
  - Heather will apply to vendor
- Morehead Pride
AKY Discord Server
- Move leadership chats to discord
  - Individual channels for different projects/committees
  - Help keep information organized
- We should at least try on a trial basis
  - Possibly use for public use later or make separate server socializing

    - Letter to the editor
  - Base building, getting more people and more volunteers
    - Rebranding found family
      - Make it more casual
      - Variety of places and events each month (potluck, restaurant, just coffee)
      - Maybe create a more inviting name
        Finding Family
    - Social media blasts, short videos, online community involvement
    - Show up to more community events (repair affair, first friday, ect)
    - Small events, mixers
    - Adult DnD, book clubs, minecraft servers
    - Gay Kickball! Start a league with other local pride groups
    - Gay Field day
    - More mutual aid efforts for queer community
    - Email and txt chains
